What is the freedom pass?

If you are aged 60 or over or have an eligible disability, and are a permanent resident in a London borough, you can apply for a freedom pass to help you travel around London.

The freedom pass enables you to travel free on London’s public transport which includes: buses, Tube, trains, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway and trams.

The freedom pass is paid for by your local borough council.

Can I apply for a freedom pass?

You can apply for a freedom pass if you live permanently in a London borough and:

* are aged 60 or over

or

* have an eligible disability. If you have a disability, click here to see if you may be eligible for a freedom pass.

Once you have one, you need to renew it each year by 31st March.
