This is a personal plea. I wondered if you had any knowledge of how to make donations of clothing and jewellery to less fortunate girls/families in abroad who cannot afford to buy an anu (what the bride’s parents give the bride when get gets wed)?

I’ve heard of an institution where those who have lost their home and/or families look after reach other. So for example, an adult of Muslim faith who has lost his/her family will look after Muslim orphans. They would all live in the institution as they are homeless. Making some good of their experiences I guess.

The members running the institution will help obtain what the bride-to-be needs when she is getting married. For example, clothes, gold, costume jewellery etc. I do not know the name of this particular place hence why I’m writing this post!

It doesn’t HAVE to be an institution like this, just one that fits the bill of helping those who are less fortunate.

Can you help?

Thanks
Heena
