Drew Rozell has written an article all about losing his friend of 14 years, Thai, his dog.

I was compelled to read it although I knew it dredge up old painful memories for me. I then wondered if you have ever lost a pet that was so dear to you? So I wanted to share with you what I wrote to Drew.

Hi Drew,
We don’t know each other but I feel kinda connected to you because I had a cat called Brutus. He was rescued from the Mayhew Animal home. He was a wild cat who had FIV and although it took a while for him to settle down & accept becoming an indoor cat, as that’s what the thinking was then; he was GORGEOUS!
I loved him heaps, learned lots from him, discovered feelings I didn’t know I had AND completely saw him as a member of my family.
I was happy that he was to be put to sleep ONLY because he was in so much pain. Of course I was sad too and grieved lots. It didn’t feel the same, especially in my flat for a very long time.
So I know what you mean by feeling the happy – sad emotion.
I wish that you heal and get through this with the support of those you love and cherish.
Take care
Heena
Here are some pictures of Brutus so you can see how fun & gorgeous he was.

Thanks Sumaiya!
He was so gorgeous wasn’t he?
I’m just glad he was with us, rather than, enclosed in a cage! 🙂

I did not know Brutus but I’ve just gone thru a similar situation myself and I know how bad it feels.
